I agree, it's a two way street.

But at the same time, I have read countless posts from frustrated MB owners tired of horrible dealers.

I am not sure how purposefully damaging a car by smashing it with things proves anything about the car's quality. It does however state VOLUMES about the intelligence of the guy that attempts to make his point this way [:)]

I would never smash a car like that, it's just wasteful

Tory
i wouldn't smash a REAL BENZ up like that, but the newer, plastic ones are expendable, at least to me....

It's wierd. Som many people, a LOT on this board, just sit back and TAKE the shoddiness Merceds has been shoveling out since the W140. And if you DARE come on here and VOICE that a car of this caliber OUGHTA WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA been better than this, WATCH the attack from some people around here. Just today in the NEW C-class board, I read a guy say, "hey, it's a Mercedes, not a Honda. EXPECT THINGS TO BREAK" !!!??? Sooooo now, it's come to this...?
I think that every enthusiast board suffers from the same kind of "problem." I used to own a 1998 Cadillac Seville with the N* engine. At around 45k miles it starting giving me problems. I finally "gave it away" on a trade in for an E series Benz.

I posted a laundry list of the problems that I had with my Seville on a Caddy board. I also posted that all 6 of my Benzes (past and present) have been relatively trouble free (compared to the Caddies that I have owned).

I did not bash Caddies in general, I only bashed the ones that I have previously owned (all four were manjor POS).

You should have read the flaming that I received as a result of my post. You'd have thought that I was a serial murderer advocating the overthrown of the U.S. government. I mean, there was even one poster that questioned my patriotism by repeating the line "BUY American or BYE America." (He is probably a regular at Wal-Mart who buys all of their "Made in China" goods.)

It got to be kind of ridiculous after a while.

So it is not just Benz owners who suffer from a bit of jingoism when it comes to their favorite brand. All car makers manufacture junk, some just manufacture more junk than others!

I love my Benzes, but even Benz's chairman has owned up to the fact that in recent years Benzes have not been as well-built as they were in the past. And if anyone drives a W124 with a wiring harness problem, then you don't need to tell him or her about Benz's quality problems.

Oh well...even a used Benz is still better than any other new car...IMHO...[8D]

RE: Stupid people.........

The problem is MB now compares itself to other cars....when it used to compare, scrutinize and compete with itself. This behaviour of non-competition made MB extremely competitive and untouchable - until W126 was moved into the history books.

RE: Stupid people.........

When the newer Benz's arent lemons and they do work, they are the best cars out there. Only thing I had to do with my 01 E320 was spend $4,500 fixing an electrical problem that was my fault. Spilt coffee on the center consol which then go to the wires and fried the electrical system. Thats it. But like I said, when the newer Benz's arent lemons, they are some of the finest cars out there.

That's like a lawyer telling a jury during closing statements "look guys, he's real, real nice when he doesn't kill".

Even scarier is if they see ANY MERCEDES BENZ VEHICLE, be it a new one, or an old, shiny classic, they would have the capability to RUIN it as a symbol of protest.

Not for anything, but to everybody here who does alot of parking in some unsecure areas, be wary of your car. You might get back with it being trashed by some anti-MB individuals.

I do not know if the cars posted above were intentionally ruined, vandalized or painted by their owners or by unsatisfied and disgrunted MB owners who plan to trip on other people's MB's.

[B)]
But i think they wouldn't dare to do it.....If Anti- merc individuals try to vandalized the MB cars...Especially in public where it attract attention...and in Multi storey parking lot where there's Security camera....I think no body would ever park their merc overnight at unsecure areas....
mine sits parked on the street right in front of my house's walkway, unlocked, every night.....[8D][:D]
