My wife recently swerved to avoid a speeding driver changing lanes-- she said her move was abrupt, but not violent-- and she swears that the car simply had a mind of its own and immediately swerved left out of control. She suspects the traction control may have taken over but obviously is unsure.
She went into the cable barriers separating the East/West freeway lanes and was spun 180 degrees coming to a stop on the cable barrier.
She was unharmed- with 9 airbags deploying-- but wonders if others have had a similar experience where the auto's control systems bmay have behaved strangely.
Freeway conditions, mid-day, clear/dry, 60-65 mph, excellent tires and mechanicals--no known deficiencies.
We are thankful that the E protected her so well, but are stumped to some degree about how the car behaved. I'm not looking to criticize MB, and realize that her recollection of her movements are vague and may have contributed to the situation.
But simply wondered if others have had a similar experience ? Thank you.
