Safety ratings for older vehicles?

Hello!

Like a lot of people here, I tend to like and collect older Mercedes Benz vehicles. Is there something that can show / compare / talk about / whatever safety with 1980's, 1970's and 1960's vehicles?

Also, is there any information on upgrading some of these older models to include air-bags in them? Anyone familiar with or know how to do this?
