This is a rented S280. The driver was intoxicated and way over the legal alcohol limit and might have been blinded by a flash. Only the right front passenger wore a seat belt, and survived. The impact speed was estimated to be around 100 MPH.
Unfortunately when I talk about the safety of my MB I get the Lady Di rebuttal: “if mbs are so safe, why did she die in one? I respond that no car is safe if one is not wearing her safety belt. I don’t know how accurate the animation is but seems the car did well in the crash, all things considered.

When someone asks why she was killed in the accident, I normally reply with "why did the bodyguard survive, seeing as he was in the front of the car as well" Seatbelts save lives!

Rock-type cars aren't good in crashes. They get out untouched, but the passengers can be seriously injured.
Driving an army tank, you won't survive a crash at 50 km/h, while the tank remains 100% operational.
Good cars are those that deform and bend. The chassis absorbs the impact energy, leaving the passenger area untouched. Car looks does like a wreck in the end, but passengers get out of it uninjured.
