According to the new issue of Motor Trend,
only 73 Maybachs were produced last year.
Maybe rebadging it as a Mercedes Maybach would
help sales, because you know there are rich
people out there who don't have a clue that it is
produced by DaimlerChrysler. Putting a star on
the trunk might do wonders......just a thought.
Do you really think rich people don't know where the real value is?
We have the topic why MB needs Maybach to compete with top-end cars on this forum.
You gave no explanation. Why so little? Don't think lack of customers is the reason.
They may need to build the brand a little more and this will take time. As long as the project is covering its variables and making a contribution to fixed costs.... It really is still early days yet.

Those 73 must have been sold 4 times each. They sold 300.

Uhhhhh, did the article say why there were only 73 produced? Was it only because of lack of sales, or was that their target?
You know, a brand like Maybach, I don't think they'd want several thousand 57's and 62's going around. It'd lower the value because there are more of them.
Would you rather there be less Maybachs produced, and them more rare? Or more of them produced, and see them almost at every block?[;)]

AML is right. Having a rare car not only makes it desirable, but also, a good investment.

Purely incidental. There are not enough used vehicles of this type for sale.
yea, that's true. But there are plently of new ones, that are waiting to get bought. my local Mercedes-Benz Dealer has 4 on their lot, and no one has bought it yet. They have been there for AT LEAST 3 Months.[:0]
