"'Bach or boat? Decisions, decisions…
Maybach representatives regularly back away from comparisons to other automobiles such as the similarly massive Rolls-Royce Phantom or the slick new Bentley Continental Flying Spur. Rather, Maybach says it considers motor yachts and personal aircraft as the primary competition of the plain-Jane 57. Uh huh.
With the 57 S, Maybach doesn't have to play coy anymore. Thanks to its fantastic engine and uncompromising, feature-laden interior, the 2006 Maybach 57 S is better than those other two cars, and anything else in its segment. So, Maybach, shut up about the yachts and kick some Rolls-Royce arse already"
I think Allegra Cole is driven in a Maybach in the movie 'Hitch' (Will Smith, 2005). Yes, this is a bit of useless information, but information nonetheless [8D]

I remember that movie. Yes she was driven in a Maybach.

Well then, you would think it would be kicking the Phantom's butt wouldn't you. The problem is, what would you rather own, a Maybach or a jet? .....I think Maybach are over-stating their brand a little bit here.
And here is the new version of Maybach- put under the number 62S
So I posted an article about it I recently found on the Internet:
STUTTGART — When the Auto China 2006 international show kicks off later this month, one of the showstoppers is likely to be the new Maybach 62S, the fourth variant in the Maybach lineup. The S model squeezes another 62 horses out of the Mercedes-AMG V12 power plant in the 62 for a total output of 612 horsepower.
In a statement released on Monday, parent DaimlerChrysler said the new 62 S model is the "world's most powerful chauffeur-driven saloon in series production."
Performance is the key with the 62S. It accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 5.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. The 12-cylinder engine has a displacement of six liters and a maximum torque of 737 pound-feet. A model plate on the engine cover bears the signature of the Mercedes-AMG technician who assembled it by hand.
A modified front end with a redesigned radiator grille and new 20-inch spoked wheels distinguish this from the standard 62 model. The Maybach 62S can be ordered in black, silver or "shimmering white," a new paint finish. In the cabin, the emphasis is on a hand-finished look with piano lacquer and carbon trim or anthracite poplar.
Prices have not yet been announced.
What this means to you: Now your chauffeur can have the hottest wheels on the block — and your Maybach can be different from your neighbor's Maybach, if you live in that kind of neighborhood.
