I didn't go with the MB version as I liked the looks of this one better with the 2 tone color scheme. I didn't see any others like it on our trip, and the lines matched up great with the GL. It was roughly the same price and also 21 cu. ft. It fit on the standard roof rail cross bars, but was a little tricky to get off due to the width of the cross bars. Make sure you do it when it is empty.
Also, the mileage didn't drop much with this thing on the roof. I still averaged around 18.5 mpg versus my normal 19.5 - 20.0 without it.
I went with Thule - works great, easy to open from either side!
Yes Thule is a better choice over MB's. I got the same one (Atlantis BXT) but in black in order to match my black/black 320btc. Along with the black Thule crossbar and fairing, it works flawless! Easy open and no highway wind noise at all!

Could you please share which Thule crossbars you used? I was under the assumption that only MB bars worked well. Did they install them for you?

Thansk
I bought them from rocknroad, the crossbars were very basic ones and moved from my another SUV Murano, they were around $110 sth, a guy at rocknroad re-cut them to fit the GL & the box w/o additional charge. See photos.
I'm looking for a crossbar aswell as I just ordered a 2010 GL 350. What is RockNroad? Do you have a link. I already have a Thule Cargo Box just need the crossbar.
