Kent,
Thank you. Those seats look great. Much better than any Ive seen locally. Do you have any personal experience with these seats? Wife just rolled her eyes when I mentioned these. Dont worry, she'll come around
Speaking from experience, if its a newborn, you'd be better off getting something like a snugride from Graco. The seat is detachable from the base, so when the babies sleeping, you can pop the seat out of the car, bring it inside you house and not have the wake him/her up!
When they are a year old or so, then you look at the cool car seats like the recaros....you'll be sitting in the car ALOT if you don't get the detachable one...because you won't want to wake the baby up!!!

I totally agree. The Graco worked very well with our infant (picked up the GL 2 days after she was born - what a good week!), so she stayed in it until she got big enough for a forward facing seat. The removable seat with the fixed base made life easy. Don't forget to grab a second base for the other car.

Have two of the toddler models. Didn't discover them in time for infant years.
The toddler models are tanks--their construction is all metal and not plastic. Only seat I've seen that insures the shoulder belt can't be loosened by passenger.
Used Britax for years. Yes, they cost a bit more but they are very well made. From infant all the way up to booster seats. Nothing matches their quality.
I ordered a Recaro seat a while back, used for a day and sent back. Fitment was terrible for such a pricey seat.

Sounds like lots of good options available..thanks for all the kind replies. First sono next week, then I guess mama gets to decide which type she wants. Will write a review of what we end up with (child seat that is!). Thanks again.
When you are ready for a booster (around 2 years old), the MB seat is really nice. We negotiated the seat as part of the purchase of our GL - not sure if I would have bought it otherwise, but it is definitely nicer than the $50 gracos.
We didn't do the same when we purchased our Cayenne, but the Porsche booster looks just as nice.
