I have a quick question... every time my wife folds down the 2nd row seat to allow acces to the 3rd row for my son, the FRONT passenger side seat moves up a few inches. In order to get it back to normal you have to push one of the memory buttons on the front passenger seat.
This never used to happen, but after taking it in for service, it started happening.
I read the manual, supposedly deactivating the "easy entry feature" should do the trick but it only works for the driver seat.
Anyone out there know how to disable this feature so the passenger seat stays put? Not a big deal, but the fact that this never used to happen tells me there must be a way to disabel this "helpful feature". I'll call the service advisor, but I get the feeling you folks know more in here than they do.
The feature (moving the front passenger seat forward) is necessary to assure there is enough room to fold the 2nd row seat forward. If that didn't happen it would be necessary to add a sliding door! The big issue seems to be if the car can be 'taught' to return the front seat to whatever position it was in before the 2nd row seat folded. I'm not sure of the answer, but try approaching the Service Advisor with that question.
yeah - Im pretty sure it must have always happened as Fourdiesel points out b/c if not, the 2nd row would hit the passenger seat and wouldnt fold all the way down. Especially bad if you have the '09 model with Rear Entertainment as it would directly hit the screen.
Easy entry has to do with the steering wheel moving up when you shut the car off. It has nothing to do with the front passenger seat moving up because you are accessing the 3rd row. My front passenger seat moves forward then I have to reach over and press the memory button. I set the "number 2" button because it is easier to reach from the drivers seat-it is higher than number 1 I wish it would return when you lock the second row but I think that is wishful thinking at best

Funny. These overworked engineers forgot to move the seat back. I swore when I found that feature. Why should I have to use a memory switch when the seat could have done it for me?
I owned a 1989 Volvo 780, a 2 door model. It had power front seats, and when you moved the seat back forward to gain access to the rear seat, the motor engaged and moved the seat forward. When you flipped the seat back back to the upright position, the seat would move back to the prior position. This was in 1989!!!! On a Volvo!
Tenty years later, Mercedes can't do it on a $70K car???
