New GL Owner

We just purchased a loaded (everything but the tow hitch) 2008 demo (10,000 miles) CPO GL320CDI in Iridium Silver. Taking delivery tomorrow - can't wait! Got a terrific deal on it. I will post pictures when I get a chance. Looking forward to sharing experiences with everyone!

Cheers, Dave

Thumbs up

We just got back from a trip to visit my father - roughly 500 miles one way. We averaged just under 27mpg for the trip. This included some city driving, and a major traffic jam on the way back. I was quite impressed.

Still working on getting some pictures.

I am happy to get 17MPG on my 07. What am I doing wrong?

Your profile doesn't say if you have a diesel (320) or a gasser. Do NOT expect good mileage from a gasser.

I wonder if it the wheels and tires??? My 2008 320 only gives me 22-23mpg on the highway, with the cruise set at 75-85mph.
I do have 19 inch wheels with 275/55 tires, which turn 1.3% slower than the 265/60/18. So that the wider tread probably robs me of another 1-2%. And if I would just slow down and let the trucks pass me, I would probably get 26mpg???

LOL

I'm sure speed and tire size has a little to do with it. I have the 18" tires, and usually stay between 65-70.

27~28.5 MPG on the highway (even better with a tailwind)... cruise set at 70mph. As soon as I go over, I get 24~25. 70 seems to be the magic number for decent gas mileage.
