My first set of tires on my wifes GL 450 are at the end of their lifecycle (original factory issued Continental 265/60 18), at least in the front and starting researching the replacements.
Tireshop recommends 265/60R18 110H Michelin® Latitude® Tour HP, Mercedes Dealer says either of the original issue once are justfine.
Do you have any experience with either and a direct comparison? The Conti's were never an issue, quiet, pleasant ride etc - any recommendaiton or arguments for changing?
FYI - we live in Las Vegas, thus no need for any snow capabilities, car is basically never offroad (which is exactly where I punctured the tire resulting in the need for a new set)
I went to Tirerack.com and the Michelin is ranked very high. But go to "Compare this tire to other street/sport tires..." on the Survey results page.
The eye opener is the Avon Tech ST.
