2008 GL 320 CDI Trailor hitch recall - Benzworld.org

I have already received a letter for a recall for the hitch. The welds are not safe and the dealer will be fixing it when I take my truck to them. Any one has any recalls besides this?

No, I too had the recall notice for just that problem only.

As of today, I have NOT received any recall notices on mine(build date before 10/07)

Recall applies to vehicles with ending VIN# A419399 or lower.

I got letter yesterday, truck is at the dealer today.
I have to got racing this weekend to California and need to two my trailer, I hope they finish today, but since I know how they work it won't be ready, so I'm very upset.
I should've bought the F-450 for towing.

Ok, truck is ready for pick up.
How do I know if the welding was properly done? This is scary, I don't know if I want to keep towing with this truck now, it sucks!

Received mine today- 07 GL450
I tow a 7500# boat, they better get it right.

Had my recall done this morning. Took 1 1/2 hours. Everything looks perfect.

dvlbob, did they replace the hitch or reweld? Just curious, mine goes in next week.

They rewelded, primered, and painted. Can't even tell anything was done. You might take a picture of the before so you can see what they did.
