Entry/Exit mode on GL450

Couple of questions, first being referenced in the title.

I know on the S and pretty much every other model of Benz there is an exit mode. I have this on my Bentley and the Range as well.

What I am trying to find is how to set it or turn it on. I need the steering wheel to raise and retract when the car is turned off.

I'm also trying to figure out how to get the fogs to come on automatically when the headlights do, or at least have the headlights turn off when the car is locked when to the on position.

Ideas?

Germans believe the foglights are for use when there's fog.

Not as a "look what I've got" toy.

There's no auto setting, that is.

Why do you need your fogs to come on with your headlamps? They are NOT driving lights. They are FOG lights. Don't you have HID's? Why would you need fogs on too?

On my 2008 320 CDI (same body features as your 450) there IS NO EXIT mode. The mechanic (Not service tech) explained to me that M-B had too much trouble with this feature and took it off. (It used to be that when the key was removed, the seat would retract and the steering wheel raise automatically. Then, depending on which key was inserted, the steering / seat would go to yours or your wife's preferred position -- no more!)

I found the easy exit mode in the menu and turned it on, but it doesn't do anything. Ideas?

Have you programmed the seat to your code (1, 2,or 3)? If so, is the seat all the way back when it is programmed? In other words, it can't go back more if it is already there.

But why? Just trying to burn them out faster or what?
