No, the answer is, "who cares?" There weren't any injured parties, what does it matter? It's the same deal one way or the other. No need to go nuking the 'fridge over it.
Obviously, I care, or I would not have asked the question.
MB-SV gets it.
Why don't you?

The sales tax in MN is calculated on MSRP, not on the actual sales price. Thank the law makers! They get a few more bucks that way, not the dealer.
The dealer did you a favor by raising the BMW trade in value, otherwise your cash payment would have been higher.
Now, if I can only figure out why my plate sticker says April instead of June... we are being ripped off by having the first year's registration only 10 months instead of 12.

Although I negotiated at the end of the month, I actually made them wait until the first day of the next month to sign the deal so that I got one more month on my plates! At least I won that small battle.

Bigfoot, don't waste your energy. This thread is just a reminder that car dealerships and salesmen will always be the same...
#1. More uneducated about their products than the average car enthusiast
#2. Be deceptive in their advertisements and business practices
#3. Always after the bottomline
I've owned many cars in many locations in my short life and this is the truth. I'm not saying that I haven't had contact with excellent dealerships with excellent service but on the average, most dealerships drink out of the same pond.

After driving my diesel truck for a while, I have a number of "suggestions" for improvement. Is there an email address for such a thing? None of my ideas are negative, but I think might be worth having driver feed back to the designers and bean counters of MB.

This might be the the best response I have EVER heard. ALL car salesmen are cut from the same cloth.
