I've read a few posts about oil levels in the 2007 GL45. I took my GL450 into the dealer as a noise in the rear proved a defective rear ball joint, but I noticed the dealer performed a campaign that essentially said on the repair order form that they replaced the dip stick and "leveled the oil".

There is a TSB about the dip stick. I took my GL450 in last weekend for routine service & had the dealership run open TSB's on the vehicle and that one came up. Here's a link to the TSB's Mercedes-Benz W164, W251 and X164 (new ML, R, GL) TSBs

I asked about the one for the update to the NAV system, but was told by the SM that it didn't apply to my vehicle (even though the version of software I had was different than what was posted in the TSB).
