Nav lost its memory

FYI - went to use the "most recent addresses" function on the GL Nav (a very useful funtion I use often) and it was blank. Gone. Poof.

Also, my wife likes the right mirror to dip down while backing. Sometimes it does - sometimes it doesn't. I hope the gremilins aren't beginning!

For this feature to work ALL the time, you have to press the mirror control for the passenger door. So, if the driver presses the driver mirror control and adjusts the mirror, then when you go into reverse, the passenger side mirror will NOT go down unless the driver had also pressed the 'passenger' mirrror control button after he finishes adjusting the driver mirror.

Boy...that came out a sounding A LOT more complicated than it really is.

Really?? The passenger mirror will automatically dip down when going into reverse? I've never seen this happen on mine. I just went out and adjusted the driver's side then I adjusted the passenger side, then put it in reverse but the mirror didn't move. What am I doing wrong? I would love to have this feature work.

Never saw the memory disappear on a NAV system. Sometimes I've noticed settings disappear (ie. seat memory settings) when work has been done on it at the dealer... otherwise, can't figure that out. Were the addresses STORED in your directory (if you've done that) also erased? Who knows. I wouldn't worry about it. Probably never happen again.

You have to go in to the dash menus and tell the passenger side mirror to dip when you shift into reverse. I do not like this feature however and would disbale it if my wife didn;t like it.

What's the "memory option"? I have the premium package with memory seats, mirrors, and steering. The mirrors move to the saved position when I hit the memory button on the side of the seat but I still have never seen the mirrors tilt down when in reverse.

I also have never seen a menu option to address this on the dash (I checked them all). The only thing addressing mirrors on the dash menu is the auto fold-in when you lock the doors.

Bax,

The memory option is a specific option for European models, seems you have it in your premium package. To get the mirror tilt down in reverse you have to press button for right mirror, adjust the mirrorpossition, then put the gearshift in R, then you press the adjustbutton in the door to save the positon. The handbook should guide you trough the procedure. Works on my ML, should work on your GL as well. Good luck!
