Hey guys, i got a 07 GL with no HID option. I love the look of HIDs, so i got a set of aftermarket installed right after i took deliver of it. It was installed yesterday by a local shop here in Vancouver, and tonight all the problems came instantly. Speedo stoped working, parking sensor stoped working, passenger airbag switched off, ABS and ESP both switched off, and check engine light. oh yea, no more power steering.
Can you guys give me some suggestions? will dealer fix the problems because of the aftermarket HIDs? Can it still be driven?
Thanks alot!
There's a guy in the R171 thread with similar problems, he had the lights coded on the STAR sytem. I have to say though, why order without and then invalidate your warranty with after market. If you don't like the foglight coming on with the cornering function have it switched off on STAR. Hope it works out, but prepare for heartache.

I would probably look into the possible blown fuse(s). HID ballasts tend to draw high amps and this might lead to blown fuses. If it was my car and I wanted the dealership to fix it, then it might be best if you hav the HID removed prior before you bring it to the dealership because if they conclude that the HID kit did cause the damage, your vehicle warranty will not cover any damages. Are your HID lights still working? Which kit did you get?

Standard lighting for the GL450 is halogen. Xenon/HID lighting is an option. Unfortunately, the HID option is not a dealer added option, the car has to be assembled with them. I ended up ordering my GL since not one GL on the lot had HID and every HID equipped GLs that were coming were already pre-sold.
