I need some advise in buying expensive cars (benz slk)

Im thinking or planning out purchasing/leasing a 2002 slk 230 with sport package and k4 and auto tiptronic, it total out to be 46000$.

Since my dad bought his 99 Ls400 for like 6000-7000$ off the stick price, I wondering how much discount do u or ur parents get for buying expensive cars. The LS400 was listed I believe at 57000-58000, he added few options, nothing extremely expensive. in additon 99 was the year lexus changed the front facial, so its not like its a end year/generation sale.

so how much discount did u guyz get from buying those kinda top end cars? (not maximas), cars like benz, bmw, audi etc.

I just want a idea of how much discount one can get approximately, so I know what to ask for. U think I can get like 4000-5000$ on the slk?

I went to the benz dealer few month ago, Since i do not like the current sport package, I didnt really talk to the sales man. I noticed every car in there was way below the sticker price. 2001 slk230 with few option, no sport for 40,000, surprisely the 2001 320 with sport cost 45000$!!!, thats around 5000$ off!!.
moreover, s class was listed with numerous option 1 or 2 thousand below sticker price.

so based on the current economy or ur experience with top end car dealers, what do think ?
