Discount name brand parts on eBay

The independent German auto mechanic I found shared some knowledge with me about parts, which I'd like to check. He told me that most online parts stores are just reselling parts from the distributor Worldpac, including Autohaus. He buys from IMC, but I noticed that they charge full list price. It seems to me if I match WorldPac warehouses to those listed by the sellers on eBay that many auto parts sellers there are dropshippers for Worldpac. If this is correct, many name brand parts, for example Bilstein shocks for my S420, front, are the genuine item if they come from WorldPac, and are a lot less, $105 than the $248 list from IMC.

If my logic is sound, and the purpose of this post is to see if it is, I might find the best deals on parts by good name brands like Meyle or Bilstein on eBay if I am careful. If stay away from no-name parts, possibly cheap Chinese poorly made parts, I should be OK shopping like this?

It doesn't take long to learn who are German OEM part manufacturers and choose between them.
Lately I was buying few rare parts and Husker at - Mercedes-Benz Parts was having MB brand parts just slightly higher than Behr.
So having glow plug module by Behr for $130 and MB brand for $140 I did not think twice.
Autohousaz is fast shipper, but they don't stock rare parts.
Ebay? I use them for household lights from China. Lately also order touch up paint for our white MB and it is good.
Even if you find Lemforder or Behr part on ebay, you don't know how long it "was waiting for you".
Rubber part age when stock in warehouse for years.

WorldPac is fine. I have found that most of the stuff is drop shipped from a local warehouse and the seller is making the profit in what he charges you to ship (unless free). The same applies to almost all the "online" sellers with electronic catalogue. For real parts, I usually call the business to get best price and those parts that do not show online. Usually get free shipping
