Yes, comparing stock jeep to stock porsche, even a 10 year old could predict the outcome. But after modification? That's a different story.

That jeep has twin turbo and all that jazz. I believe it was making roughly 1200 hp at the crank in that video. That porsche wasn't stock either, maybe 600 at crank?

Yes, the S63 has the same engine as the CL63 -- though you are correct that the new S-class coupe is just a rebadge CL.

I don't know about the CL63 having launch control and surpassing the CL65... the 65 is a heavier car, true. But any V12 vehicle has nearly all options as standard equipment, which Im reasonably sure includes launch control. This should be true on all S classes.

Sure, a 63 might be able to beat a 65 in 0-60 because it's lighter, but long distance the 65 is the clear winner. You cant argue with a V12 now, can you?

Well 1200 horses is a big differential from 600. But I was thinking since the porsche is lighter and has mods, it would beat it. I thought wrong haha. Me and my uncle actually sat in an srt8, really nice interior. Though For some reason my favorite trucks are the G63 and the icon toyotas. Such amazing vehicles!!

Hm. Well I was looking through car and driver and I think they claimed that the cl63 had launch over the 65. And they also stated what you mentioned on the v12 catching up at some point. No doubt about that.

As for what you said about the features. That is a fact! The 65 or flagship vehicles in general come with pretty much anything. Including the v12. Why do you think Im so hellbent on a 65?!?!

But I like all the options you gave me. Im just such a v12 guy even if the fuel economy sucks. Then again most AMGS eat up gas. Except the E63. its amazingly good at gas.

Since you've worked on cars like this before, do you by any chance know a collector, or someone that might be wiling to sell me a 65 or anything you've mentioned in the future? It would probably save me the trouble if I knew someone ahead of time.

Hah, I'm not that well known enough to rub elbows with the rich and famous. And even if I was, most of those people have multiple exotics, and they can afford to send the car to the dealer...So no Indy jobs for poor little ole me.

My local MB has a Maybach for sale, and I spoke to the salesman about it. He says that every Maybach customer have their own personal service manager on call 24/7 and who takes care of ALL of their cars, Maybach or Mercedes. I don't know about the Mercedes part, but i believe the Maybach one.

So it's not inconceivable, really.

Aw shucks. Its a shame too. Cause even if I had money, id still take my car to an indy shop. Its better than spending SO much money when you can spend a little less for a repair by a trustworthy mechanic. Thats just my humble opinion though.

Thanks anyways though! Im sure whatever I get, wherever would be nice.

Speaking of maybach, I'm glad they merged with Mercedes. At one point they were starting to look very similar to the 07-10 S class.

Oh wow, someone call the newspaper, Kajtek is hawking diesels again!

As for the OP, with these high-end AMG cars, if you have to ask about the price of ANYTHING, you can't afford it.

Just trying to keep record straight, as not too many owners realize that modern diesels are THE FASTEST cars on long drives in USA.
Beside diesel being slightly slower at green light, even before cdi and variable turbos they had 60-80 mph acceleration comparable to AMG models.
I was challenging Joe55 to race my 1998 E300DT, but that never happen.
I truly believe my 2008 320 Bluetec will beat W210 E55 in most of the tests.
And I can bet $300 that I will beat any modern AMG with my Bluetec on 600 miles or longer trip.
A clue, bluetec can make 600 miles without fuel stop.
