Bluetec fuel hoses life?

New to me 2008 Bluetec is not old years-wise, but closing on 170k miles has some life behind it.
Just yesterday had unpleasant situation when leak line disconnected at 80 mph while I was on left freeway lane.
On Bluetec leak line is connected to supply line, so opening the system kills the engine on instant, while spilling lot of fuel under the hood.
Driving diesels for year I observe some tendency.
1987 MB diesel that my father still keeps -most likely has factory fuel lines.
The 1997-99 diesels we had - did require new plastic tubings about every 10 years.
Now Bluetec has deteriorating fuel lines and cracked intercooler hose at 8 years.
Anyway, I already ordered set of new hoses for Bluetec and plan to replace them when right time arrives.
What are other high-mileage Bluetec owners experience?
What else on the engine should be replaced with the age?
