Clear coat chipping

The clear coat is chipping in several places on my 2004 CLK Cab. Mostly on plastic surfaces; i.e., side mirrors and headlight washer covers. Is this an issue with MB or just my car? Any suggestions on an inexpensive fix?

It's a bit common especially if your car is exposed to sun's UV rays most of the time. You can sanded down to remove the clear then re-apply clearcoat or have a professional body shop do the work.
