is my car LHD or RHD??

Hi All

I just purchased an 2003 SL in Dubai, the car is in great condition and I love it, but I just know came to know after checking the datacard that the car is a Japanese import. Does this mean my steering wheel was on the right side and it was moved? I would be worried as I would need to have someone look into the quality of that job....

Is there a way to know what the original state of the car was? I read that some cars in Japan do have the steering wheel on the left side.

Checking VIN for Mercedes-Benz WDB2304751F039213 | CARInfo

Many thanks,

MB builds them for both LH and RH markets. It is very unlikely that the car was converted on the aftermarket.

I doubt if it was originally an RHD that was subsequently converted to a LHD despite coming from Japan.

Don't worry. It is an left-hand drive SL 500 (version for Japan - lighting units sets for left hand traffic).

WDB2304751 = LHD
WDB2304752 = RHD

Mercedes-Benz. Ihr guter Stern auf allen Strassen.

Pretty much any benz with an amg badge or greater than 4L displacement will be lhd from Japan (it's prestigious to drive on the wrong side), about half of 3-3.5L cars and almost none under 3L.
