2006 e350 wagon - 183k miles -

My Mercedes mechanic has a customer willing to sell his 2006 e350 wagon with 183,000 miles and he's asking $7,000, which I think is 1,000 to 2,000 too high. Anyway, let me know you think. Mechanic had told me a few months ago that 2006 models had known engine problem, but he just repaired that on this car. Car seems excellent condition - high miles a possible concern, but maybe not if I can get for 5 or 6k.

If the engine problem fixed was the soft balance shaft issue then it should be a solid car.

I have no idea what its value is seeing as average mileage from a value point of view is 12,000 miles per year and that car is way over that.

Just my opinion so take it as that but the price seems a bit on the high side given the mileage.

If the car is really clean and has GPS, the price is about right, but local market can be different.
Read W211 forum for what you need to check and don't take just mechanic word. He needs to show receipts, and/or give you warranty.
Today's MB gas engines make 400k easy, unless factory flaw is not addressed.
