B 200 Turbo EVC Problem

I have a 2008 B 200 turbo with 135,00kms from new. Ran fine until recently. Wave of gasoline fumes comes into passenger compartment after a run of a couple of hours - never at start. Dealership smoke tested as no system warning light. Because the event occurred intermittently they concluded malfunctioning valve/canister set-up and replaced both. However, within a few days, the problem has started again. Before I spend any more money, it seems that maybe the EVC system is not the culprit. Does anyone have any similar experience or can suggest what the problem might be?
