Cylinder pics, expert advice needed, is this kaput??

I have just bought a previously flood damaged Mercedes CLA

most ECU function fine. Checking the engine with borescope and one cylinder looks in a state. I have attached pictures, can anyone who has seen plenty of these pics give me their medical opinion if this is superficial or if the walls are likely pitted (in which case the engine is no good of course)

I know it was not salt flood so am hoping its just surface damage. Really need some other opinions before I get into it.

Do not spend any money trying to fix that engine.

Even after a flood it should look much better. It looks like
has been under water or had water in the engine for a very long time.

If you have to keep the car then start looking for used engine with a good history.

Also keep in mind that if the engine is that ruined, imagine the potential for all of the
electronics suffering the same fate.

Buying any flood car is not a bargain. After you get some estimates for an entire engine
tear down which will also show sever crankshaft damage, rod bearing damage you will
wish you never thought you bought this salvage car to make it reliable again. It is a total write off.
