coolant/water leak MB 140 vna

Hi. I have had my 2002 Mercedes MB 140 van for about a month and yesterday it sounded like a hose popped off while I was driving and steam filled the cabin. I checked the radiator and tried to fill it with water but it seems to pour out onto the ground as if a hose has split or a hose clamp has come off. I have tried to see where the leak is coming from but there is not a great deal of access to around the water pump or near the top of the engine where the leak seems to be coming from. Is this a common problem with the MB 140s and if so what would be the easiest way to get access to the top of the engine to analyze the problem? Thanks
