Ok guys, I recently had to replace my coolant radiator and fan, along with repairs to the AC rad and the gearbox oil rad on C270 CDI.

Everything seems OK but here is something weird ....

My "outside temp" on the dash is fixed at +85.0 Degree C no matter if the car is off, been running awhile or just starting up ?? The Coolant Temp is showing 100% correct when selected!

Lights switch on auto-select, my headlights are permanently on and not just coming on when it gets darker or when I go into a dark undercover parking for example.

Now for the real strange issue, the car go into limp mode after 1 or 2 kms driving from start. Should I stop and restart the limp mod is gone for a while and back again. Then I noticed the headlights being on permanently with switch on auto select. Now for the real punch line - soon as I turned the lights to OFF - the limp mode is GONE !!! ???

What ?? a case of light paranormal or is the ECU now completely be-devilled ???

Any suggestions perhaps ???

Sounds to me like this could be either a bad ground, a bad sensor or a relay going bad. Have you checked the wiring diagrams for possible sources? Do you have access to a MODIS or equivalent? It will probably take some digging, good luck! Also, when you changed the radiator, did you also change the thermostat? That's usually an easy fix and they go hand in hand.
