c280 query re possible trigger to 'Check Brake Fluid'

Hi,
Unfortunate incident at a car wash that was shampooing carpets on driver and front passenger side.
Excessive water used under driver side compromising electrical systems. Looks like a catastrophic failure.

The first indication of the problem was the appearance of the 'check brake fluid' warning. It was on immediately when I got into the car (car was left running by attendant).

My question: could excessive water used on driver carpet trigger this warning?

Thanks
