That's where I found him actually. Well I found them via Yelp and another Benzworld member said the mechanic was ok... but just wanted to make sure because everyone has a different experience.
It was not a ripoff. People have paid a lot more for the same service. Some people a little bit less.
As a DIY project it could have been done for about $300-$350 with all genuine MB parts and approved fluids.

A conductor plate change along with filter and 5 qts. Of fluid goes for $800 to $1200 at the dealer.
Ok; sounds like I got a decent deal then. Haven't paid that much for any car related service in a long time but I realize it's part of the deal, especially with an older vehicle like mine.
