I've got a set on my washer. I like to buy things once. Something about my childhood when things lasted forever and if they broke you could fix them. I just can't see, beyond fitment, how they could screw up door stops.

95% of rich home owners choose cheaper one.
Just saying.
Not really an apt example, though I get your point.

The premium there is 3.5 times. URO parts don't usually cost that much less than quality parts.

Moreover, the faucet just needs to be fixed. Heck, maybe even to be replaced.

But a bad URO part can total a car.

And it could trigger a collision.

Really bad potential downside.

That said, I would use a URO part of it was cheap, easy to change and not critical or meaningful, like maybe the new tip for the defunct roof antenna on the W210. Or the door stops for the OP's car.

I price shop and if I see the URO name on a part I run from that no matter how much less the price is. I have seen too many URO parts fail in short order.

I don't mind spending good money on good parts.

So once again, I think we should not talk Uro vs expensive parts, but cheap parts vs expensive parts in general.
Brake parts beside, I bet lot of owners spend extra $100 on good radiator hose, that worse come to worse can trigger $200 -300 in towing and repair charge, but then save $10 on household hose that can trigger $15,000 in floor and ceiling damages.
Those things don't happen that often, but I have seen them few times.
I am just waiting for brake hoses for my father's W124.
Choice at autohasaz was $28 for better hose or $8 for cheaper one (not URO).
Father wants cheaper one, so this is what I will be installing this week. His decision, not mine but I'll be sure watching how the cheap stuff holds.
Life is always full of choices, but making principal rules help to sail via.
You buy cheap, but don't sweat when you have to pay second time soon,.
You buy expensive and hope it will last.

Follow up on LOW PRICED parts.
The Pex brake hoses arrived and they are Made in Germany.
Meaning not all cheap parts come from China.
Anyway, I have no problem to buy German parts for 1/3 price of OEM parts.
Time will tell how long they last, but that might take 10-20 years.
I remember putting URO radiator hose on this car 2-3 years ago and it holds well.
The Y-shaped hose cost about $300 at the dealer.

I have Pex basic parts to be decent.

Their suspension parts are not so good. Only got about 30k miles out of a lower ball joint on an ML. I spent double on a Moog HD ball joint and it is still rock solid at 50k miles.

Sad thing is the parts "made in Germany" may not be. Just sold to a company there. If I was going to do my suspension MOOG is the only way.

At least they have German label.
I don't see too many "Made in Germany" on our W211.
Factory part are made in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Sweden.
But I had the same with Volvo 20 years ago. I was rebuilding one after accident and when I ask part person what is made in Sweden on Volvo his answer was "Price sticker"
Than spending some time in Germany, I know that parts manufactured in Germany are not necessary made by German people.
Gastarbeiters are everywhere.

Just picked up a side marker lamp assembly for the wife's Volvo from URO via Rockauto. Snapped into place and functioned perfectly and a great match for the damaged part that came out. I'm happy!

To follow up above experience.
The cheap Pex brake hoses look well machined, so it is good start, although there is no way to judge rubber quality with bare eye
I also check the Uro radiator hose on W124.
Installed in May 2012 and looks good so far.
Paid $19 for it 3 years ago, now it is 28. List $117
