Which MB models share wheels with W212 Sedan ?
I've got a 2010 W212 E500 (E550 in the states) and I have sets of both summer and winter wheels/tyres. I keep my winters in storage (at the car workshop that swaps them for me) during the summer, and my summers in storage there during the winter.
I'm considering switching from my W212 sedan to a wagon/suv and my shortlist includes : W212 E class wagon, CLS Shooting brake, and ML (2011+ model). I assume it's a 100% lock that the E class wagon will share the same wheels. I'm thinking that the CLS is basically an E class wagon with a swooping roof, so I'm guessing 90% chance of that sharing the same wheels. Reading about the ML (aka the GLE now), it says it's basically the E-class of their SUV ranger (with GLK = C class and GL = S class), but that doesn't mean that it shares anything with the E class itself. It maybe just marketing speak to give you an idea of where it sits in the range.
If it makes a difference, both my summers and winters are 17" and I won't be buying an AMG model, so brake disc size shouldn't be an issue. My main motivation for the question, is to consider whether I get to keep my winter wheels/tyres if I switch to any of these cars.
