brakes not sensitive as before?

Hi i recently got my car shipped coast to coast, and it took seven days total. during this time, the car was not operated and stayed on the delivery truck. when i received my car today, i noticed that i had to apply more pressure to the brakes than normal. it's weird because i had the brakes replaced prior to shipping the car, and the car was fine then. is it possible that i just need to drive the car a bit and the brakes will return to their normal sensitivity?

I suspect that the rotors have accumulated a layer of rust during the 7 days of inactivity. Use the car for a couple of days and the rust will wear off and give you the old performance feel.

Rust on rotors should wear out on couple of activations, so if that stays longer it is worth checking.
Knowing car model would help in guessing what else might fail.

Oh that's good to know. I drove roughly 13 miles yesterday but it was mostly on the highway will little brake usage, so I'll track the brakes over the next week.

It's a 2001 E320 and it's been well-maintained. Had brakes replaced last month and German mechanic said everything was in order.

Your car is W210 body and equipped with vacuum brake booster that takes vacuum from intake manifold.
Worth checking if one of the hoses might get disconnected.
If the problem persist, go to W210 section for more precise answers.
