Whether you drive in or back in could depend on situation, surroundings, circumstances, location, personal preference, confidence level, etc.
I usually drive in and back out, but when I store the 107 for the winter, I back it in so I have access to a plug for the tender. When I had pick-ups, I'd back them in during the winter so I could just lower the plow and pull out into the snow following a storm.
Either way, unless you have a rare, drive-through garage, you either back in or back out.
When out on the road, it's always best to watch out for Pot holes, Sink holes, and those other Holes!
