Oil change help !

I am looking to purchase a 2013 S550 Four Matic from my local Mercedes dealer. Here is the problem. The car has 30,000 miles with no record of oil changes. How much damage to the engine could be done? Would you stay clear of this vehicle?
Thanks,
Boman1949

Did the dealership run a VMI for you? If it has been serviced at a Mercedes Dealership it should show on the VMI.

The car fax makes no note of Mercedes service.

VMI stands for Vehicle Master Inquiry. If the vehicle has been serviced at an M-B dealership, all the records should be on the VMI.

On the other hand, you should keep in mind that Carfax is not the "be all to end all". Carfax can only report what has been reported to them, and if the vehicle has been serviced, for example, at an Indy or a DIY'er who didn't report that service to Carfax, there may be no records.

Are there any service receipts anywhere? Also, is there any information on the Carfax that you do have as to the original owner/number of previous numbers i.e. private sale, private lease, corporate lease or fleet vehicle, rental vehicle, etc., which might explain lack of records/receipts?

Frankly, although I may be in the minority, I'd be very careful about purchasing any car with 30,000 miles that's without any records or service history.

When out on the road, it's always best to watch out for Pot holes, Sink holes, and those other Holes!

30,000 miles = 48,000 km and those cars driven in Europe do allow 40kkm intervals.
Meaning I would not worry too much even if the engine is still on factory oil, what is still hard to believe.
You should be able to easy tell with a look at oil fill hole.
I do buy used cars on ebay and none of them comes with records. What I do is blowby test and acceleration test.
If a napkin will stay on open engine fill hole, you are good.
If in doubt, compression test would be highly recommended.

Car originally Leased as "Personal Lease" in Fairfield Conn. then sold at "Auction" almost 2 years later. Then to be bought by a Massachusetts Mercedes Dealer to be "Star Marked" and resold. I wonder why the original dealer in Fairfield Conn. did not star mark and resell car. Was it because of the mileage with no oil change?

Do I lay napkin on fill hole and just idle for a few minutes or do I rev the engine with napkin sitting on top of hole?

If the napkin lays at idle it is good.
If it still there above 2000 rpm it is great.
For comparison, Ford diesel owners are happy when reversed oil cap stays on the hole and Ford caps are heavy.
