balance shaft failure

Someone please advise is the 2005 SLK350 included in the bad balance shaft engines?
As I remember it was most V6 from 2006 thru mid 2008. But the 2005 SLK350 used the new 350 engine while other 2005 for example had the 320 engine which was OK.I am looking at a 2005 SLK350 with 100K miles and don't want to make a mistake
Thanks. New to this site so hope I am in the right forum?

Have the seller provide the VIN and check with a dealer to see if it is an affected engine number.
If it is and has gone this far it probably wont fail. Only a percentage of the M272 V6 350 engines failed. Or a dealer might say this one was repaired with new parts.
