MFD is hard to read when weather is warm

Why does the MFD becomes hard to read when the outside temperature reaches 70F. Mostly the top and bottom lines of the display get vague and difficult to read. Is the display going bad? There are no codes other than left signal light malfunction which I need to replace the multifunction switch.

In most cases when that happens the display is on its way out. The gauge cluster can be removed and checked by an electronics specialist. It may just need some solder joints patched, but at close to 12 years old it may be past the point of fixing and need replacing.
