2002 Mercedes sclass 430

Hey guys, I purchased a 2002 Mercedes S class and 2012. The car had 74,600 miles on the odometer give or take. The car was very clean and it was an older couple so I never bothered pulling Carfax. stupid me but lesson learned. I had the car a few years and it ran great with no problems and continues to do so my fiancé and I are getting married so we decided to sell the car because we needed the money. Someone buys a car takes it home. A few days later the police come knocking at my door asking me if I knew anything about the mileage being rolled back on the car to I which I said NO. The officer told me that the buyer brought the car to Mercedes dealer. They were able to tell that the car has 237,000 miles on it. My question here today is if Mercedes was able to tell that the car has 237 miles then can they also put a timeline on when this crime was committed??? This would clear me of wrong doing. Please guys any info would help. I am an innocent person with the family. I truly had no knowledge of the mileage on the vehicle. I am trying to clear me of the wrong doings.there are some discrepancies on Carfax hinting to this before I owned the car but nothing concrete...please please any info would help thank you

At the time you purchased the car it had already been rolled back and that is easily proved.

Show them the title and registration paperwork from the time you purchased it and that you were also duped at that time. If you do not have the records your state's DMV will have at least the title on file.
