Talking DIY: Bad Catalytic Converter + Oxygen Sensor Fault Code

I had a check engine light for a bad secondary O2 sensor and I could also hear an exhaust leak. One day the exhaust leak got even worse.

After getting quotes for $1400 to replace the left catalytic converter I decided to remove the cat and inspect.
I was able to weld the old catalytic converter back together since the ceramic insides were intact. Now the exhaust leak is gone and the O2 fault code went away on its own without having to reset the check engine light.

You can see all the pictures and my welding skills here. This was my second time welding so be easy on me. It's not leaking at all. I decided to weld the other end too, it looked like it had a crack. (Or so I thought but maybe I was having too much fun welding.)
