E320 throttle issue

Car sat during cold weather, had to charge the battery. Starts fine but now the engine does not rev when you hit the gas, it will only slightly so it is not disconnected linkage. I am not mechanical... Any ideas?

No matter what years, 320 are computerized engines and computer will not let the engine rev high with no load.

That is true, but it should get to about 3000 rpm before the ECU cuts in and stops it revving any higher.
