1981 - 1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL

Hey guys. . . Newb here, and this is my first post on the forum.
Well, as my name implies I am an absolutely newbie at these things, so i'd really appreciate some kind of guidance from the more knowledgeable Benz owners here.

I am looking at getting a Mercedes-Benz 380SL 1981 - 1985 model. However, I'd like to know if I can convert the interior into a four seater as oppose to its current roadster design. I notice there's a lil space in the back where the speakers are. . . Can we Mod this baby and fit 2 seats into that space with just enough leg room for the occupants? I really want this car but I really want a four seater too.
Regards

There should be no speakers in the rear area of a 107 SL. Must be aftermarket.
Kinder seat was an option on the 107. Sold here: Mercedes Benz SL Rear Jump Seat | Mercedes Rear Jump Seats | MB Jump Seat | Benz 107 Chassis | Kinder Seats | 3rd Seat | Fold Down | MB Folding | Non Folding Rear Seats | Rumble Seat | Aftermarket Back Seats | Stationary There is no way to comfortably fit full size adults.

If you are looking at North American 380SLs stay away from the 1981-1983 models. Mercedes experimented with a single row timing chain. Epic fail. If there is proof it has been converted to double row chain you might be okay.

There is a R/C107 on benzworld : R/C107 SL/SLC Class - Mercedes-Benz Forum

Why thanks Rowdie, I really appreciate the time taken to make such a detailed post. . I'd please like to know if upon modification (Seats) individuals can fit into the back seat albeit uncomfortably?

They really are only suitable for kids or very small people at best.

Those "seatlets" are only suitable for punishment, and not safe in a collision.
Look at the E and CLK 4-seat convertibles instead.
