Better than wheel locks?

I found this today on Autoblog, the graphics make it look like it functions as an anti theft device and tire pressure monitor. This may end up being a nice system for anyone without tire pressure monitors already on their cars, or maybe the sensors are universal (the photos show them stamped with VDO which is an aftermarket manufacturer) and could be programmed to work with the car?

What do you think, does this look legit or not? I know I'd like to have something like this for my motorcycle (which the website says will be available)

Project Overlord is like LoJack for your car's wheels

"police are also alerted"
That tells a lot how smart the sellers are.
No PD wants to be called every few minutes when someone lifts the car with alarm.
They are not for chasing the wheels period.
With today technology something like that seems possible, but I don't want to think about price.
Lot of tire monitoring systems needs sensor replacement when battery die after about 5 years. That comes pretty expensive and lot of owners decide to delete the systems just because the cost.

True, we've already seen some police departments decide to not respond to ADT home security calls because it used so much man power

In policy shift, Akron police soon to stop responding to most security alarms - News - Ohio
