Customers expectations go in circles and that is why manufacturers follow current trend.
I know a guy who back in 1980's had a collection of big Cadillacs.
Since those were years with high gasoline prices, the wife forced him to sell them for pennies just to clean the yard.
Did not take long till fuel prices dropped and value of those huge Cadillacs went up by multi-fold.
If you still have one of those 5mpg monsters running - it is worth a fortune.
Now fuel prices are dropping but will they go back into $5 range, don't count on gas-guzzlers to hold the values.
I did own few of those "build like tank" W124, while one is still in the family.
Breaking stabilizator brackets, clima elements deteriorating short time after 10 years mark, same for vacuum maze of hoses, failing headgaskets, falling heads
Thanks, but no thanks.
