Question Need assistance finding parts by VIN with EPCnet Online

I downloaded and installed ECPnet Online. I did the search for parts by VIN number. I was looking for the belts for the vehicle, (1996 S 320 W140 L6).

Instead of defining the appropriate belts by VIN it just listed ALL of the belts for a W140. Is there a way I can sort it by VIN so I can find the appropriate belts for my vehicle?

Did you enter the VIN into the VIN location on the web page?

I did, but misread it it. Sorry about that.

If I recall the F7 button controls filters for parts relating to a VIN or chassis. See if those filters are turned on.
If they are turned on the car may be of an age that EPC is not as precise as it is with cars that are 1998 or newer. If you want you can PM me the VIN with the belts you want and I will try it on my EPC to see if I get any different results.

I recall opening EPC with generic drawings, but when I clicked on the drawing the part that does not belong to my car, I was getting a message about it.
That said, it is common that MB changes the parts over the years and they all come with different part numbers.
I remember that rear shocks for W210 wagons come with 6 different numbers.
Some of them discontinued 10 years ago, but all 6 will fit.

EPC does indeed change monthly and some parts I look up for the 99 ML have had 7 or more revisions. And you are right that all of them will fit, but were updated or designed to work with other W163s.
