Exclamation Engine\trans swap 80' 240d to 83' 300d

Got a chance to pick up a 1983 300d excellent body and interior-no engine transmission. Can I put my 240d engine and transmission into it????
Without too much modification? thanks!

You don't have computers that on newer engines have to be swapped as well, so that is very good news.
Since both engines come from the same body, I would believe the job suppose to be on easy side. With good luck even motor mounts and driveshaft might fit.
I would worry about differential ratio. Very likely they had it different, but that means your 240 will have overdrive, what is better than having under-drive.
Good luck, no matter what you decide.
