Does everybody know what this is for?

Good evening everybody. I just want to mention that I see many Mercedes with their rear fog light is turned on at very nice summer nights. As you all know (i hope), Most Mercedes vehicles are equipped with front (dual) and rear (single on drivers side) fog lamps. These lamps should be only used during foggy or low visibility weather especially rears. Today I had to follow the below vehicle (SLK) for almost 30 miles because of the traffic which really bothered my eyes and visibility. It is a very bright light from factory. I see and believe most of North American Mercedes owners do not know or think it is very cool to use this feautere. I think using fog lights are not illegal during clear weather in the U.S. But please be more sensitive and think about other drivers following you.
Good Bless you all and have a great night.
Thank You.

I got my DL in Europe and was quite shocked that most states in US allow driving on left lanes of the road even when there are no cars on right lanes as well they allow use of fog lights year around.
Can't educate ignorants where they have the law behind.

Many countries have strict rules re the use of fog lamps, Sweden has, as does the UK

I agree that following someone with an unecessary rear fog light on may be annoying.

However, my vehicle has no daytime running lights, so I'll often turn on the front fogs during dusk/dawn or very cloudy days to be more visible to other drivers.
