Now seeing you are pretty new to the forum, what made you shopping for 20+ years old cars?
Hi, I am not sure if my profile got erased, or I was on a different forum, but I had been pretty active previously. There are my previous MB:

I want to own a car out right. I had gone down this road a few years ago thinking it would be economical, then bought a Land Cruiser 80 Series, while reliable, I went and put a ton of $$$ in upgrades. I now want something I'd buy, drive, and be happy with. Of the three body types, the W126 would not require any $ to get it to *look* the way I want it. I have a feeling I'd be tweaking the looks of the W124 and W140 to get it how I'd want it.
"Why not W210?"
I hadn't considered the W210, much more complex I imagine with the electricals, maybe as much as the W140 I guess. I just never heard about their reliability being on par with the build quality of the 126/124 and possibly even the 140.
I was hoping that budget could get me into a V8 W124, but they are far and few between. I'd also probably put the most into a W124 to get it exactly as I want it with suspension, wheels, maybe paint if two tone, etc. I know the two main things are the harness and the evaporator. The evap being the bigger job, I can do the wiring harness and upper harness are going for a few hundred bucks here (was sorted out by 94 anyway I think).
