Now, THAT model was never imported into the US, the closest we got was the 190E 2.3-16, of which we got very few, and most of them met a fate similar to E30 M3s, that is, got driven into the ground. I might have seen two for sale in over a decade, both were basically parts cars.

Fact is that it is hard to get fully sober while on vacations in Las Vegas.

Register for the EPC. Free if you're in the US, nominal charge if not. Look up the parts just like the pros!

Being as the C240 a C32 appear to be completely different animals, and what you're really talking about is preference, have you considered taking one of each out for a drive? If your budget is good and you're serious about buying one then checking out those available for sale would be the thing to do and taking them for a drive.

I mean part thing about buying a used car in general is you can only choose from those available, it's new cars you can buy like choosing lollies. With used cars you can't always get the one you wanted because all that version might be overpriced or in crap condition at the time, but one you didn't even think you wanted is in such perfect condition and such a bargain that you do a complete turnaround and snap that up on the spot.
That's how it is with used models.

Hell when I bought my 190E 2.6 I was actually looking for a cheap fast car which it isn't but it was such a bargain it was worth spending aftermarket dollars to make it one and still being cheaper than anything better like a late model C-class or an early AMG.
I did want a European car but also definitely wanted a fast compact, so really I was aiming at something like an early Audi V6 or turbo, or an old BMW V8 or something like that.
But when I actually did the hunting and ran around with my money in hand it turned out the 2.6 was the best choice all round, knowing the alternatives would wind up costing much more in the long run to get up to final spec, so it was a bit of long term thinking there, and the fact I just got it so cheap in good mechanical condition and no rust.

So maybe similar factors will wind up a much bigger influence on what you buy?

driving a fast car should feel like falling off a building.
