MB Dealers - won't work with aftermarket parts?

So I put a set of 20" staggered rims on my ride at a small local wheel shop because MB wouldn't install them. The small shop is so small they don't have a lift or a alignment machine. Actually funny thing was the BMW dealership would do it but I had to wait longer than I could for an appointment.

Went in for service today and the MB service manager said they won't do the alignment. It's won't fit on their machine and if they did they wouldn't anyway because it's not a MB wheel. Really???

Is this the MB experience others get or is this just this one dealership?

Take it to a tire store, they'll align it fine.

I have used dealerships in Arizona, Georgia and they all were the same, I used to bring them all kinds of stuff to put on my car and they would turn me away (what was when I was younger lol). I am in Kentucky now and I won't even ask lol. Though they have put used OEM parts on my SL.

I presume if mercedes cannot supply the parts no form of any guarantee can be offered,

They have put Beru TPMS sensors in my car. They are the supplier for MB up to 2005 for the sensors so the dealer was happy to do it. I was in a for a brake fluid flush and recall work when they installed the sensors.

I think the title of this topic is misleading.
The situation has nothing to do with installing aftermarket parts, but making alignment on 20" wheels that were never installed on MB.
If the wheels won't allow installing sensors on them, the alignment can not be performed.
Plain and simple.

Well a local dealer did refuse to fit an aftermarket camshaft to my M103 and told me flatly they will not fit any parts they do not supply themselves, even if OEM.
Annoying really, few independent workshops around here can figure their way around Kjet, you basically need to find a mechanic who happens to be from Germany.

Some indies will fit other parts with the understanding that no guarantee can be offered with any labor cost should that part fail.
