Brake/ESP Failure, but how to get the vehicle into neutral to move it

Hello,

Tonight my wife's 2004 E320 had a brake failure with a console message of "STOP, Brake malfunction, Stop Vehicle" along with another message of "Increased Braking Distance".

From what I read, I am thinking the pump is bad though there might be an off change the brake switch is bad (the one near the peddle???). I can't even shift gears, thus I can't shift into neutral gear to move/push the vehicle. Does anyone know how I can get the vehicle into neutral so I can at least move to a safer location until I have it towed a bit later today?

Thanks,
Mark

Not sure if you can do this on a 211, as its looking like a possible speed signal fault it could be the switch
